Friday Night Youth
We have 25 – 30 young people aged between 11 and 14 who come along every Friday night and get involved in different activities such as football, table tennis, pool or sitting and chatting with friends.
The aim of a Friday night is to provide a safe environment for teenagers from Bishop Auckland and the surrounding areas to come to. We also believe it is important to teach the young people Christian principles they can then put into place in their lives such as respect, forgiveness etc.
During a regular Friday night youth there will be a time where we share some thoughts and ask the young people to discuss what has been shared and make their own opinions about what we have spoken about.
We also run various activities through out the year such as an activity weekend away, a trip to Lightwater Valley and other events.
Friday night youth is often full of energy, laughter and young people enjoying themselves.
Girls Group (Da Peeps)
This group is for young people who attend our church and are developing their own relationship with God. It runs every Friday night 6:00pm – 7:00pm. We have a time of discussion and prayer each week which looks at different aspects of being a Christian. We are currently looking at worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry and fellowship.
We attend other youth events throughout the North East including Ninth Hour ran by Youth For Christ. We also have different socials throughout the year such as a trip to South Shields Beach and going to the cinema etc.
